Warns Of Hazard Due to Nuisance Alarms in Smoke Alarm Model 470LName of the product: Smoke Alarm Model 470L Units: Approximately 11,600 distributed in Manufacturer: Dicon Global Inc. Hazard: The alarms may initiate false alarm or fail to properly reset after pressing the test button. Identification:On the product: On the back label the model number is identified as "American Sensors Model 460L". The alarm is wired directly into the building circuitry and does not use a battery.Sold by or distributed by: Commercial and residential installers in Ontario and Quebec. Majority of the affected units were distributed to Ottawa Housing.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported. What you should do: If your product is a model 470L you should discontinue using this product. Contact Dicon Global Inc. (1-800-387-4219), facility owner, or your installer for a replacement. Customers should immediately contact their installer or facility owner to determine if their alarms are included in the recall. If so, they should contact Dicon Global Inc. to receive free replacement smoke alarms with installation, or for more information. Only professional installers should remove and replace these units.
